DC's Best Cupcakes

DC is just as food savvy as NYC these days, and the cupcake trend is in full speed down here. With Georgetown Cupcakes and Hello Cupcake down here, they have been the most popular around. But the best cupcake place is a small hole in the wall bakery/ coffee shop in Georgetown--Baked and Wired which is located 1052 Thomas Jefferson Street NW
Washington, DC 20007 between 30th and 31st Streets

They have a huge variety of cupcakes, cookies, brownies, scones and slices of pie. I love their Elvis Impersonator AKA The Unporked Elvis cupcake which is a Banana cupcake topped with peanut butter frosting and drizzled with chocolate. It is scrumptious!
For Halloween and the Sanity Rally they made adorable funny cookies this past weekend!

Georgetown Cupcake also has tasty cupcakes. The shop in Georgetown is ALWAYS over crowded with long lines all the way down the block, but their store in Bethesda can sometimes be a little less crowded, I've had better luck getting in their quicker than the one in Georgetown.

My all time favorite cupcakes of theirs are the Caramel Apple Cupcake with maple frosting and the Pumpkin cupcake with maple frosting. The maple frosting is delicious and it melts in your mouth!!
